9/24 gaming
|
I'd like to set up a 4-player game of Terraforming Mars at 1 PM, possibly with a repeat with the Tuesday folk, but only if that works to the numbers of attendees we have then. (I have the game and will bring it.) It appears many people may be late (5 PM or so). I don't think I'll have a problem (a) staying somewhat late and (b) playing multiple games of TM, so everyone who wants to play should be able to get a chance. We'll see how it unfolds. Also got Cry Havoc today, but may not have a chance to punch the counters, sort the cards, and read the rules before tomorrow.

I played Captain Sonar with a total of 8 people. Fun but crazy. You'll either need the big table or string together a couple of the card tables. Am trying to think how it would work with 6.

7/22/17 Gaming - Meatier game on the menu?
|
There's a possibility I will show -- I'm bringing Immortals, the new Queen Game to be released at GenCon. Only about a dozen copies in circulation at the moment. It's a re-do of the Wallenstein / Shogun system with some twists. Game play can be pretty long, though. I'll also bring Ethnos, as that has resounded pretty well with folks.

Gaming, Saturday, Sept 23rd, 1pm
|
Count us for three -- myself, Christin, and a long-time gaming friend who recently took a job in Ellicott City and is looking for good groups in the area.
Did you get any Lisboa in last time? If not, I'm looking to take up the big gaming table with it for a few hours, and will teach. I know Larry's not a fan, but is anyone else interested?

I plan on being there. Wouldn't mind an Airlines Europe rematch. Will likely bring Gaia Project for those interested.

Oh, and by the way... time-sensitive post that I deemed not worthy of a new topic, but.... Cthulhu: Death May Die is available on Kickstarter for the next 11 days, an Eric Lang / Rob Daviau production. I played this with the designers while it was in development and found the game to be extremely thematic and very immersive. A cooperative game in the spirit of other Cthulhu titles but much more tactical in implementation. Very good theater of the mind. I backed it at the base level (was not tempted by the 2' tall Cthulhu, your mileage may vary).

Consider me "likely" but not "definite". I will be bringing Root and Gaia Project if I attend.

July 13th - A lucky day of gaming?
|
Martin Wallace has agreed to let Eagle Games republish “Struggle of Empires”. If you have played this game before, I just got the files today from the project director at Eagle (Ralph Anderson) with a request for comments on the new look and gameplay. This is not a session for teaching; the idea is to compare it to the old game and see if any of the changes are problematic. If you have played before, and are interested in either commenting or (if we have a couple people interested) going through a few turns, say so here and I will bring the game tomorrow.

Hello John. Thank you for keeping the light on! We are doing well. Had another surgery (outpatient) yesterday obliquely related to the previous one. Never underestimate the effectiveness of fentanyl! Missing gaming in almost all its forms, although Vassal and Roll20 work well in the interim. As far as what you can do to help - just keep doing what you are doing, maintaining hope that some normalcy will emerge on the other side of this mess. Thank you again!
