Hey, Folks! This Saturday is scheduled to be a game day, but given the current worrying situation, I thought I'd open it up for discussion.
What do you think we should do? I'm fine with the idea of trusting folks to self police. If you have the symptoms of COVID-19 (Fever, Cough, Shortness of breath) or reasonably suspect you might have been exposed recently, stay home. I'm also OK with cancelling if the majority think that would be prudent (or are planning to avoid it anyway).
What do you think?
My personal warning: I spent 12 hours at a packed Emergency Room with my parents (thankfully all is well) Monday. As far as I know, there were no cases present and I have no symptoms aside from the normal winter dry sinus congestion (which has not changed this week), but fair warning.
Thanks and I hope everyone is well! edited by JohnKerr on 3/14/2020

Oh and, of course, if there is any dramatic change in situation, we will re-figure. Check in here before coming over Saturday (if that is what we end up deciding).

John, I agree with you 100%. For now, I'm planning to attend. If things change I understand if people cancel or if we cancel the meeting entirely. Thanks for the update!

I'll show up. News reports are still saying infection risk is generally low for the area. (I suspect our next game day might be disrupted, though, as it seems likely that cases will jump significantly in the next two weeks)

Well that escalated quickly.
There is a presumed COVID case on my floor at work, but they can't be sure since tests aren't available. I'll skip this game day just in case.

I really want to come. But having spent nearly the whole day managing the impact of fears of COVid 19 on my museum., I am a little gunshot. Unlike most of you, I am part of the age cohort identified as “at risk”. I think that prudence dictates that I pass.
I am curiously if any of you have Terraforming Mars or Through the Ages as an app. I have yet to play an online game, but I’d be interested in giving it a try. Maybe we could set up a time to play

Just noticed that autocorrect turned “gun shy” into “gunshot”. I don’t think I’ve ever been gunshot and you’d think I would remember something like that.

Assuming you're inviting fewer than 100 people, I am in for gaming. Not sure what I am interested in playing, but I will bring MetroX and the wingspan expansion at a minimum.

I'm pretty sure more than 100 people are technically invited every week. [This is an open forum, after all]

Hi Marvin... I should have answered to all, not an email. I've played Terraforming Mars on Steam and Through the Ages at http://www.boardgaming-online.com/ NOTE: I left out the hyphen in my email, so I am not surprised you didn't end up on the site I intended. I have been really happy with both. I do not like the TTA app. I played it on the iPad and felt like I had to learn the game all over again.

Perhaps with an over abundance of caution, I’m going to cancel... There’s a number of factors, not the least of which is putting more time between my ER visit and other gamers.
Hopefully that’s the right call and my apologies if not. And hopefully things seem better in two weeks! Stay safe and well, everyone!

Sounds smart to me, John. Not worth taking chances and it was a small crowed. The only bad thing is that it'll let me work in that faucet I've been trying to fix for weeks. Ugh. Have a great weekend, all!
