Just checking to see that there will be a game at John's place this Saturday. Will we be getting together as usual or did the July 4th gaming supercede that?

Woo hoo! Yes, I'll be there, with many new/new-to-me games:
Bullfrog Goldfield - a trains-based/stock ownership game themed around mining gold and silver in 1905 Nevada;
Spectral Rails - Another train game where you have to deliver souls to their final resting place;
Step to Step - A push-your-luck dice game;
Dungeon Petz - Vlaada Chvatil's thematic sequel to Dungeon Lords; a bit lighter, but still heavy and rules-intense.
As always, I'm also up for 3-player Ora and anything else new that's brought over. See y'all tomorrow!
