July 4th Gaming Woo hoo! We have a Laura sighting! That should lead to some fireworks! Cool

July 4th Gaming I figured I'd stick around until 9 or so, Brad--unless John kicks us out earlier!

The gaming onslaught continues, 7/9/16 I'll be there, starting at 1 PM. I'll be happy to learn City of Iron. I'm also up for playing another Steampunk game, German Railroads (well, it's almost steampunk!). Finally, if someone could bring Porta Nigra (I'm putting together my IGA Game of the Year ballot and I want to see if it's makes by top 10), I'd really appreciate it.

Ongoing - Delivery Restaurant Opinions John and I tried a restaurant called Thai Square on July 4, 2016, and it was really good. Very flavorful food, including, believe it or not, the Bean Thread and Pork Soup. Here's their website:

Fourth Saturday gaming - 7/23 I'll be there at 1 PM and am up for almost anything. Wouldn't mind finally trying out German Railroads.

Cool gaming, in spirit if not temperature. 8/13 I'll be there at 1 PM. Now that I've encountered one of my white whales in Fields of Arle, maybe I can try to play another one: German Railroads. But I'm up for almost anything.

August 27th - 4th Saturday gaming I should be there by 1 PM. If anyone has Quadropolis or Isle of Skye, could you bring them to the game? I have to submit my votes for a Game of the Year election in 3 weeks and I need to play both of those games some more to solidify my feelings about them. Thanks!

August 27th - 4th Saturday gaming Have you ever played Space Alert, Brad? The description of Captain Sonar reminds me of that one quite a bit. SA is also a real-time game with different roles and frantic gameplay, except it's purely cooperative.

Gaming 9/10 - Last summer game day! Looking forward to the coming of fall. Hey, maybe the next time we get together, the temperature will only be 89 degrees!

I should be there at 1 PM. I will be bringing a new game called Loop, Inc., which is a reasonably short brain-burner themed around time travel. I also have a case of Ludolus Interruptus: we were going to play Marco Polo on Wednesday, but it didn't happen, so I certainly wouldn't mind getting to play that on Saturday.

As for John's new games, I know most of them. Patchistory is a great game, but it's not for everyone: it's long (figure 3 hours), very swingy, and the rules aren't very good. But it's epic, deep, and the patching mechanism is terrific, so definitely worthwhile for the brave at heart. Mare Nostrum is a very good Euro-style Civ game; the new rules are supposed to bring the duration down quite a bit. I've played Prodigals Club once and really liked it; it's an expanded version of Last Will. I'd love to play it with all 3 competitions. Played ZhanGuo once and didn't care for it; I'd be willing to try it again, but only if it can be explained by someone who knows the rules well. Dilluvia Project is a futuristic city-building game that has gotten some good reviews; I'd be willing to try it. I just played Port Royal on Wednesday and really liked it; it's lighter, but still requires some thought. And I'm always up for a game of Carrara. The key will be if there are people who can teach these games without a straight read from the rules. Hopefully, we'll have some folks knowledgeable about these so that we don't have to struggle getting started.

New games--yay! Looking forward to the session!

9/24 gaming I'll be there, probably at 1 PM. Assuming Bob can make it, I'm looking forward to playing Terraforming Mars again. I'd also love to play Patchistory, if either John or Scott can teach it. I'll bring Loop, Inc. and Grand Austria Hotel, just like last time.

9/24 gaming A functional version of Medici, Chap? I won't believe it until I see it!

Brad, I'd be happy to play Captain Sonar. Sounds like fun!

An early october game day, 10/8 I'll be there and itching to play any new stuff, as usual. That includes Patchistory, Carrara (if it's shown up yet), Prodigals, Mare Nostrum, and maybe Diluvia and Zhangou. Lots to choose from!
10/18/2016 10:13:20 PM
10/22 gaming I'm afraid I won't be able to make it. We're closing on our new RV and it figures to be a busy day. See you all in a couple of weeks.
11/11/2016 7:16:55 PM
November 12? Me, me! Looking to play any of the new Essen stuff. See everyone tomorrow.
11/25/2016 5:12:26 PM
Gaming to give thanks for, Nov 26th Always thankful for gaming! I'll be there at 1 PM. I'd love to try out Hanshu and any other Essen games.
12/8/2016 10:18:04 AM
2nd Saturday gaming, DEC 10 I should be there at 1 PM. Sign me up for the second game of GWT (I'm sure it will be in great demand), along with any other new stuff.

Christmas Eve Gaming I'll be out of town, so I won't be able to attend. I hope everyone has a good time and rings in the Christmas season with some great gaming!

Long awaited 2017 gaming 1-14 I should be there by 1 PM, unless I'm delayed by the projected wintry mix. I'd really like to try Oracle of Delphi. Additionally, I'm always up for GWT or any other of the new Essen games. Vinhos Deluxe is a possibility as well, particularly if it streamlines the original design a bit.

Fourth Saturday, 1-28, gaming 12:30/1pm start. Welcome back, Marvin!

I should be there at 1 PM or a little earlier. I have a copy of Lorenzo il Magnifico, which I'll be happy to teach. I'd also love to play Railroad Revolution or GWT. Or, as usual, anything else new.

I always enjoy gaming with Jae, so I look forward to welcoming him to the group. And if I had to choose, I think I'd say the person playing Formula De. :-)

Yeah! Gaming this Saturday, 2/11 I should be there by 1 PM. I'll be bringing a guest, a member of my old games group. I borrowed a copy of First Class (which is sometimes billed as the Russian Railroads card game) from Bruckart, so that will be available for play. Sadly, that means that Lorenzo is back in the lending library. Other games I'd like to play include GWT, Delphi, and any other newish stuff. See you there!
